Hard to believe it’s been more than 10 years since Forths.com debuted in June 2000. While it’s mainly a hobby for me, I’ll continue to improve Forths.com to ensure that it’s a modern, convenient source for sharing the latest events and photos with friends and family.
The HP ML310 Server - Current Forths.com Home
For those of you interested in the technical details, Forths.com is still hosted in my basement, but is now on its third server. Our current server is a Hewlett Packard ML310 G1, approximately 7 years old but still kicking. It has 2 GB of memory and a blazing 2 GHz processor. Ok, that’s not exactly state-of-the-art, but it’s plenty for now. To ensure that the pictures and movies are safe, we’re running a RAID-1 mirrored pair of hard drives … how about that?
